Book Guilt

So I'm over on YouTube looking at videos from the BookTube world and I come across a whole lot of videos on book guilt.

While I haven't taken the jump into actually joining in on BookTube I decided that I wanted to do a blog post on this subject.

Guilt: n. The fact of having committed a specified or implied offense or crime.
Guilt: v. Make (someone) feel guilty, esp. in order to induce them to do something.

Now I have to say that both definition applies to me when it comes to my book guilt.
I have purchased many a book because so many people have read and praised it that I felt guilty not owning a copy of it. I have also felt guilt because I have/purchased a book and but I have not read it and everyone has the ability to make be feel bad for not reading it.

Here is just a short list of books that I have felt a fair share of book guilt over as I have purchased or received a copy and still haven't read them:

So this list is many more books thank I expected and this is just the book from my nook (with the exception of a few books), this doesn't include books I have downloaded from other places that I can get books for my nook, or books that I own a psychical copy.

One thing that I have learned in making this list is I defiantly get more books than I read. When I get into reading ruts I do purchase more books to see if I can get out of my rut rather than seeing if I can use some of the books I have to get out of that rut. I have also had a few jobs and volunteer opportunities that have taken up most of my "free" time that I didn't have many opportunities to just sit and read. I know I could have made more time during those times but I just for whatever reason chose to do other things that I felt more important.

Do you have any book guilt books?

Until next time...

Happy Reading!

New Beginning...

I love reading books.

I love telling people about the books I have read.

I love reviewing books.

The point of this blog is going to be for me to be able to:
  1. Tell people about books that I have read and loved.
  2. Be honest and tell people about books that I read and didn't like so much.
  3. Get people excited about books that are coming out that I am excited about.

To talk about all things books.

I have a giant to be read list that I will share in the coming days. I have a lot of books but I'm going to make a list of some of the books I would love to read/re-read this year.

So far this year I haven't read a single book because I have been at a road block. Hopefully this will change and I will be able to read a great amount of books this year.

Until next time...

Happy Reading!!
